About Me

I have 15 years of experience in community-based therapy and healthcare serving people moving through displacement, addiction, crisis, chronic illness, death, and grief. Supporting my clients through the rough and tumble of life has shown me the power our bodies possess to rewire our experiences and reclaim our joy. My clients' stories are why I chose to open my somatic therapy practice and I remain grateful to each person who has given me the privilege of mirroring their light.

As your practitioner, you can expect me to hold a space of unconditional positive regard while also being fully myself. So here are some things to know about me.

Mentally: I crave information and love podcasts about the natural world and science. My favorite podcast right now is "Ologies with Alie Ward".

Spiritually: I am deeply connected to my spiritual practices, which include contemplation, human rights, ecological caretaking and well-placed curse words.

Emotionally: I own a symphony of emotions and I have learned to enjoy all their unique characteristics though I have been known to tell people that my favorite emotion is sadness.

Physically: I am a mixed heritage gal (German American/First-generation Filipina). I share my Grandfather's nose and my Mother's complexion. My racial background has taught me the power of both belonging and difference.

Areas of Focus

Somatic Reprocessing

Beneficial for anyone feeling stuck in an unhelpful reaction to their experience or environment. I work with a 5-step protocol developed by Dr. Ruby Gibson to reprocess experiences through the entire neurological system. This protocol allows that stuck response to unwind from the neurophysiological memory and creates space for new meanings and future possibilities.

Trauma Recovery

For people who have found themselves on the other side of an experience/experiences that have left them feeling stuck in the past or terrified of their future, life can feel very isolating. By respecting the state of each person's nervous system we can gently address unmet needs and create new experiences of neurophysiological safety. Allowing the mind to ease and settle into the present moment intentionally tipping the scales of our mental wellbeing toward strength, sovereignty, and peace.

Ancestral Healing & Reconciliation

Beneficial for anyone who has a history of familial conflict, a lineage of historical trauma, war, displacement, enslavement, or poverty. As well as for those curious about their ancestry and the effects of generational stress on the body. When we take time to reflect on our lineage, we can uncover ways our mind, body, spirit, and emotions are linked to the many survivors who came before us. This opens perspective around what stories are ours to carry and what stories are ours to change.

Identity Empowerment

Unfortunately, many people who possess identities outside of their dominant culture are subject to isolation, rejection, objectification, oppression, and abuse. These social experiences can have profound effects on our nervous system and our ability to maintain inner equilibrium. When we use medicine wheel archetypes to support our strengths and integrate these experiences, we can clearly identify our boundaries, our gifts, our authority, and a deeper connection to the world.

Chronic Stress Release

Helpful for people experiencing hypertension, and chronic pain. Long-term, ongoing physiological tension and inflammation can make it difficult for our minds to unwind and create a sense of psychological safety which can feed into a vicious pain cycle. By focusing on these pain points in session we can identify emotions connected to physical tension and create a pathway for safe release, supporting the body's ability to ease.

Mindfulness-based Regulation

For those interested in meditation and mindfulness but have found practicing difficult. Mindfulness-based regulation gently guides clients toward sensory awareness, re-establishing dialogue with the body's natural communication system and providing grounding techniques for daily life.

Grief Therapy

We all carry grief. Death and Loss are a part of our human experience. When we are not provided the space to grieve and mourn our losses, the sorrow we feel can become complicated leading to increased personal suffering and/or numbing. On the contrary, when we are given the space to honor what we have lost, we gain deep insight into how we love and how we want to live.
